Beads! Beads! Beads!

Beads held over for TWO MORE weeks!!!
I thought I would be closing the show down today but, after several folks wished it could be longer, I managed to do so. The beads will be for sale through the 22nd of the month so come on back and shop. There's still lots of crystal, Murano, Pandora, stone, pendants and much more! Like I posted before this is a really big one and lots of price levels from $3.00 up. Closeout strands are only $6.00.

Cynthia is also planning some more classes to be announce soon, so keep checking and watch your emails.

Happy Beading!

Happenings!

Just a heads up for folks that want to shop today, Cyn will be in the shop till about 4:00pm today. The trunk show is in it's last week, unless folks want another week to shop. If so I will try to get an extension. It has been a really nice one with a large variety. Be sure to take a look at the video that I posted a link to in the last blog to get an idea of what is available.

I am also hoping to do another wire wrap class. This time we will have an oval stone to capture. More when I get it scheduled.

Happy Beading.

HIGHSTRUNG BEADS SHOPPE -Bead Show Now In!

I received nine boxes of beads for the new Trunk Show on Friday. They are up and ready so come in during the next 2 weeks and find things I don't usually have. There are findings, cabachons, and beads of so many kinds! Looking for larger hole beads for special projects? There is a selection of stone, metal and pearls with large holes! Some folks have been looking for Hematite beads, check out the show. There are beads from $3.00 a strand up to about $38, so something for everyone, I've even got my eye on a couple of items myself. Check out the slide show to get an idea of great beads in the show.

SILVERSMITHING CLASS

The Silversmithing class went well. David Smith worked with us to create some beautiful pendants in the two days he was here. It was an intense workshop and all of us were tired but happy when it was over. Dave stayed late on Saturday to help some of us slower folks get caught up and then we finished on Sunday. Several of us bought the kit and are already working on new items. Highstrung Beads was so lucky to have Dave offer to do the class, as Montgomery isn't very often part of his route. Thanks to Dave and all of the ladies that were able to attend!

Well the seed bead show is finally done. It was a good show and I have a few of the tubes put in my stash for future projects. Quite a number of the seed beaders stopped by the last two weeks to stock up.

Now I am preparing for the Silversmithing Class,  David Smith is coming to teach. I have had several people ask for a class that includes soldering and metal working. Finally it is going to happen. I am really looking forward to learning all the techniques of designing a pendant with silver and gemstones. Don't know when we will get a chance to do this class again, we were just fortunate to have this opportunity now.

I am heading out of town after the class for a few days. Cynthia will be back at the store so be sure to drop in and see her. It has been awhile since she has been able to come in and I think she would love to see her beading friends. When I return later in the week, I will be setting up a new and beautiful Trunk Show. I will post more when I get back and hopefully a short video.

Happy Beading!

SEED BEAD TRUNK SHOW GOING ON NOW!

HIGHSTRUNG BEADS

The seed beads are in and selling well. There is a great selection of sizes and shapes as well as new colors and mixed tubes. The vendor has send a nice variety of the Bella beads which are the Italian ones. The show started Friday and will end on the 10th so come in soon. I haven't been able to restock my seed beads lately so now is a chance to get some I don't have.

It's Spring?

I think so, as the azaleas and other spring flowers and trees are blooming now. Our winter was so mild this year that maybe Spring is here. I've enjoyed most of it except the sneezing from all the tree pollen. I'm planning a few things over the next couple of months. There will be a new seed bead trunk show arriving the last weekend of March. Beadweavers, (ie: loom, peyote, and other stitches) make a note as there will be new colors in both the Japanese and Italian beads. I am looking forward to seeing the new collection myself. She usually sends 15/o, 11/o, 8/0 and 6/o as well as different shapes.

I am also arranging for a bead trunk show soon. Many of you out there keep asking when is the next one. I will post it out when I have the dates.

Also, those that are still interested in the silversmithing class and are not signed up need to make their decisions as it is beginning to fill up. I am really excited about this one. I've been wanting to learn how to solder and work with silver. Check it out here if you haven't already:

About Me

My photo
Montgomery, Alabama, United States
I've always loved jewelry and sparkly things, so when my life took a change I began considering my own shop. I started Highstrung Beads in January of 2003 and it is still going strong. The shop is now at it's third location and better than ever. I try to keep a selection of unusual items, pendants, and lots of gemstone as well as the standard bead items. I wish I could have even more beads in the shop, just like other bead lovers, there is never enough!!
