Charlottes in Now.

The new Charlottes and other cut Czech seed beads out for sale. I've worked on theses several times trying to get them marked, and finally they are ready! There are some beautiful colors in the mix. The sizes available are: 13/0 charlottes; 8/0 single cut (like a charlotte) Size 12/0 3 cuts, and peanut beads. I have just a couple of 15/0's in shades of green, the selection was slim this time. I wish I could get some time to work on my projects and figure out which ones I might want before they are gone. 

I have a class coming up soon for a Christmas ornament cover. This is my own pattern and can be changed around to make different styles. Come by and sign up this week.

October!

Right now the Fair is in town and one of our "BeadFairies" has won several ribbons for her jewelry. Therese Frank enter some of her bead work and took a blue ribbon for one and second on another as well as some other ribbons. 

 The ladies that get together have also been working on projects and teaching each other new stitches and how to use other mediums for their jewelry. 

Last night Ms. Delores taught a wire sculptured necklace to four students. This was her first class and everyone had a great time. Each person had been collection items to possibly use in their necklace/bracelet including charms, personal memorabilia, and beads. The table was covered in their selections and they proceeded to share some items with each other. Not everyone finished but the project had all of us capturing our fantasy creation in wire. 

There are several classes on the bulletin board for next month, so come in and see what interests you. They are filling up. Also give us an idea of things you would like to learn.

Shows Coming to an End SOON!

The last week has been a busy one. I spent a weekend away from the shop and focused on beading and relaxing. (Why am I so tired?) I've been working on several projects and still haven't finished any of them. The Trunk Show has had a great response and I even snatched up a few thing for myself.

Next Monday, October 1, is the last day for the big show that is at the front of the store. The seed bead show will end next week as well. I hope everyone has had a chance to stop in and look them over. For sure, someone will come in after it is gone, looking for beads that are gone.

I have also purchased some African beads in brass, recycled glass (like sea glass) and other things. Not a big selection but interesting. Also some Trade Beads that are about 50 years old, for those looking for them.

Charlottes and cuts are also in the very near future. Again, limited and they go fast.

New Seed Beads

Just in! A Seed Bead show. WOW two trunk shows at the same time, what's a beader to do?

Come in and SHOP! That's what. The see beads are sure to get picked up fast. There are several colors of peanut beads and lots of colors in the 15/0, 11/0, 8/0, and 6/0. The Italian beads have some 10/0 in them. This show is for two weeks.

The Big Trunk show just started too, lots of stone beads to choose from as well as pendants, findings and metal beads.

Trunk Show has arrived and ready by Thursday!!!!

I'm just back from my vacation and now it is time to get ready for the upcoming Trunk Show. 

There are lots of new items to chose from including metal beads and findings, Pandora beads and bracelets, large variety of stone beads, crystal, Murano, Fimo, porcelain, pearls, and so much more. There is somethings for everyone so come in and "shop till you drop!" See sample pictures below.

New Trunk Show NOW!

We just got in a new trunk show yesterday and it is all ready for shopping. There are lots of stone and natural beads as well as crystal in 3mm, 4mm, and larger mm sizes. I've not had any of the 3mm before and lots of patterns call for that size. There is also a a selection of metal beads, pendants and charms. Come in soon as this will only be here a couple of weeks!

                  Beads held over for TWO MORE weeks!!!

I thought I would be closing the show down today but, after several folks wished it could be longer, I managed to do so. The beads will be for sale through the 22nd of the month so come on back and shop. There's still lots of crystal, Murano, Pandora, stone, pendants and much more! Like I posted before this is a really big one and lots of price levels from $3.00 up. Closeout strands are only $6.00.

Highstrung Beads 2012

Well, a new year is started and we are entering our 10th year of business. I've lots of plans for different classes this year. One of the most exciting is a possible Silver-smithing class later this spring. When I have more information it will be posted and email sent out to my list.

I am also getting planning to offer a wire wrapping class soon. People keep asking so I will try. The classes will be small and I may need to do more than one if I get a lot of interest. It will be base metals; copper, brass. This is a beginner class.

There a a number of new items in the shop including metal beads and findings, large hoop earrings and more pearls and other beads.

Highstrung Beads Shoppe

I can't believe how time is flying by. Halloween is over;Thanksgiving will soon arrive, then Christmas! It's so hard thinking about Christmas gifts and the holidays seems as though summer has just ended. I've been working on several different projects from recent issues of B&B and Beadwork. There have been some nice things in the last few issues.

The trunk show is still available through this Saturday, November 5th, after that it will be returned to California. This has been a good show with many new beads and lots of color. If you have a chance stop in this week.

Upcoming show for the seed bead folk! There was such a response to the last one we are trying it again next week. I am looking for the boxes and will post when they are in and ready. If you are looking for seed beads in lots of shapes, sizes and colors get in fast, this is a popular show.

Trunk Show Going Strong

Hope everyone has been enjoying this beautiful weather! This time of year is one of my favorites. I can keep the shop door open to get some of that fresh air as I bead and work in the shop. Folks have been coming in to shop the Trunk Show for gifts and planning new projects. I spoke to the vendor today and got a weeks extension on the show; so it will be here through the 5th of November.

Also a reminder that the shop will be closed this Saturday. I will be back in on Tuesday morning. Cyn is supposed to be back on Halloween.

Seed Bead Trunks Show

I decided to try something different and scheduled a Seed Bead Trunk Show. It has been a long wait but the seed beads finally have arrived and are ready for sale. We unpacked them and were excited to see new colors, shapes and sizes. There is even a selection of Italian seed beads and some glass bicone beads and firepolish rounds too.

There are so many of us that love working with these little beads so I know you will enjoy seeing these. They included square, bugle, triangle and some other shapes too. It is going to be hard to decide which ones to take home. Check your project lists and come on in soon

NEW TRUNK SHOW AND SALE!!!

Just arrived, a new selection of stone, ceramic, metal, glass and much more. The sale will only be here a couple of weeks so shop now. For you hemp weavers there is a good selection of large holed beads perfect for this. There is a small selection of hematite in this show as well.

Things have been busy at the shop lately. I have a lady that is teaching beginning classes on Monday and Thursday. The classes vary to include a number of the seed bead weaving techniques. We have plans for other classes in the coming months. Come in and check out the new beads and find out more about classes.

No! It Can't Be July!

June flew by! July is fast fading too. Busy summer for all of us I guess. This month is again filled with activities and trips for many of us. There have been a number of travelers and visitors through our city this past month; and they have been stopping in at the shop to see what we have to offer. I've taught several new beaders how to make jewelry in various ways, what fun all of us. It is amazing to hear how excited and please a new beader is with the first project. Many cannot believe they really did it so easily.

I took a course through the local Art Museum recently, taught by local artist, Joanne Staley. It was really fun; and I learned lots of new things to do with metal. I am hoping to do a simple stamping class at the shop as the trend seems to be toward that.
There is also a trunk show in the near future. More on it later!

TRUNK SHOWS

The beads for this trunk show are flying out the door! People are loving the bright Murano style glass and the bright glass beads. There is still a good selection of the Large Hole beads in a variety of stones. Those out there that are looking for hemp beads this is the best time to come in! Lot's of pendants choices at 4,6, and 8 dollars as well as many closeout beads(16 inch strands)at $6.00.

There is also a new selection of Pandora style beads available now. They are in lampwork styles and facetted ones. Several folks got a few last we had them, come check these out!

Trunk Shows Now !

Happy New Year

Well, 2010 is gone and we are starting a clean, new year. I wonder what exciting things will come about this year.

I am planning work on an entry to the Fair. I've met several of the beaders here who have won best in show and other awards for their designs, so I'm going to try my hand. Anyone else out there interested?

Christmas is almost here!

It has been a strange few weeks for me. Lost loved ones and friends have been the norm for some reason this year. I've been in and out of the shop the last two weeks and am sorry when I've missed folks.

Remember, we have gift certificates available for those that don't know what to get their beading friend/family member. Also, there is a small trunk show with some fab beads just in as well as a new selection of beads in stock. When possible I've been busy trying some of the patterns in the newest magazines.

The shop will be closing on Thursday for Christmas and reopen on the following Tuesday. Shop now for those last minute beads and gifts.

New THINGS!

Fall has officially begun even if it still feels like summer! I will be glad for some cooler weather, just not winter yet. Please!

I've just received a shipment of products and a few new bugle beads at the shop. I am looking for a Trunk Show to be delivered soon as well. I'm getting geared up for holiday projects and the bugles are really nice, several are twisted or spirals in metalic colors. There is also a couple of new 8/0 hexcuts. I just had to try out the bracelet in the newest B&B. I've also been experimenting with paper beads! Fun to recycle those ads and flyers instead of throwing them away.
