Upcoming Classes - New Beads

I have been considering several classes for the upcoming weeks. A class on Christmas ornament covers has been requested several times so that is on the schedule. We will use one of Carol Lampole's patterns for the project. The class price will include a copy of the pattern.

There are several class discriptions up on the board at the shop. Stop in and sign up today. The holidays are coming and this is a great way to make special gifts for those on your list.

A new group of Czech glass has been hung on the wall. Lots of pretty colors for late summer and fall. Also in are some new findings, fireline and other new items. Come in while there is a good selection!

Beaded Bezel Class

August 14th - 5pm -7pm
Seen the new beading magazines with the beaded crystals or have a cab you want to try beading around? Come take this little class. Knowledge of peyote stitch is helpful. We will be using size 11/o seeds and 15/o seeds. These are the little, tiny ones. Call for further info or to sign up.

August Update

Here it is August already! July flew by and now it is time to start thinking about school. It seems as though the schools just let out and now they are announcing the return to classes. Speaking of classes, there are several on the calendar for this month at Highstrung Beads.

We are offering a couple of classes for the beautiful Christmas ball covers, sometimes called Ballgowns. There will be both day and evening times for interested students. Bring a friend and start on your first one, they make great gifts!

I will also offer a few classes in beading around Cabachons and rivolis as there has been some request for those. They make beautiful pendants and earrings can be done with smaller cabs and flatback crystals.

There are also peyote, RAW, and other off-loom stitch classes available on request. Call now or come in to schedule you next class. I have lots of daytime availablily and, of course, Thursday night is the late night at the store. There are lots of new seed beads to choose from too.

New Seed Beads

New size 15/o seed beads arrived yesterday! We have 6 new colors including a shiny gold and shiny silver. There are two new colors of size 8/o triangles one is gunmetal color. We restocked in shiny black and brown colors(401 and 134) in size 8/0 and add two new colors as well.

I have also gotten in sterling knot covers (clamshells), size 4mm crimp covers. There are copper and gold plate crimp covers in as well as 3inch copper headpins.

NEW BEADS

Vendors have been by and I have a limited selection of vintage crystal riviolis, some new pearl sizes and colors, semi-precious, and lots more. Come in while the selection is good! We will be putting our Czech glass on special the rest of this week as well.

Class Schedule for July

There are several classes on the calender for July. I have samples and info posted in the store. A brief list is below.

New Magazines- Beadwork, Bead and Button and the special issue or RIGHT ANGLE Weave. There is also the new Canadian Beading Magazine in as well.

The shop will be open until 7:00 pm on July 3rd and reopen on Saturday the 5th. We will be open on the 3rd until 7:00pm and reopen on Saturday the 5th at 10:00 am. Celebrate and stay safe!

Highstrung Beads New Location

Highstrung Beads has been at 51 Mitchell Ave. Montgomery, AL for almost two months now. This location is much easier to find, better access without the traffic at the old location. We are bigger and better. Look for the sign at the street, I used it on the blog page too. We are really enjoying the brighter, more open space and the great workshop area.
